The Atlantic Provinces Library Association (APLA) 2014 Conference Program Committee invites you to submit a proposal for presentation at the annual conference which will be held at the Delta Beauséjour Hotel in Moncton, New Brunswick from June 3-6, 2014. The conference theme is Step into the Spotlight and will focus on library advocacy, outreach, and marketing initiatives. What are you doing to highlight your library’s offerings? From Pinterest boards to videos to rallies to embedding yourself in your user community, we want to hear about your experiences! Have you recently completed research related to these themes? Step into the spotlight and share your findings.
This year’s conference aims to feature three different types of presentations: one hour sessions, Ignite Talks, and poster (please consult the Programme section of this website for additional information about these presentation formats). Proposals are due by January 31st, 2014.
Submission information
Proposals may be submitted for presentations in English or French, with the exception of Ignite Talks which will be presented in English only. Please include the following information:
-Name/title of the session
-A brief abstract (max. 250 words)
-Name(s) and contact information of the presenter(s) including address, e-mail, and work phone number
Potential presenters will be notified by March 14th, 2014. All presenters are responsible for their own registration, travel and accommodations.
The Program Committee will evaluate submissions based on originality, practicality, relevance to the conference theme, and contribution to the field.
